As part of the College of Administrative Sciences’ commitment to keeping pace with developments in higher education and enhancing the quality of the educational process, the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Al-Dulaimi, participated in the specialized training course entitled “The Bologna Process in Iraqi Universities.” The course was delivered through the Eduba educational platform with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and faculty members from various Iraqi universities.
The course aimed to introduce participants to the philosophy of the Bologna Process and the mechanisms for its implementation in Iraqi higher education institutions. It also highlighted its role in developing academic programs and aligning them with international standards, thereby contributing to the enhancement of educational quality and learning outcomes.
The training provided a comprehensive overview of the principles of the Bologna Process, including the design of academic programs based on learning outcomes, the adoption of the credit hour system, and the modernization of curricula to meet labor market demands. It also addressed the promotion of academic mobility among universities and the strengthening of mutual recognition of academic qualifications.
Furthermore, the course examined the key requirements for implementing the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities, the challenges facing higher education institutions, and a number of international best practices and successful implementation experiences. It concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at ensuring effective implementation and achieving the objectives of academic reform.
The course emphasized that adopting the Bologna Process represents an important step toward improving the quality of university education and enhancing the competitiveness of Iraqi universities at both the regional and international levels. This can be achieved through the development of the educational environment, the enhancement of academic program quality, and the improvement of educational and career opportunities for students and graduates.
