The University Council of Al-Mustaqbal University convened an emergency meeting on the morning of Sunday, 5 July 2026, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and attended by the Vice Presidents, Deans, and Council members. The meeting addressed a number of urgent academic and administrative matters while reviewing the directives issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to ensure the continuity of academic and administrative operations throughout the summer recess and to optimize preparations for the upcoming academic year.
The Council discussed several key agenda items, including:
First: Follow-up on the Ministry's HEPIC System
The Council emphasized the importance of promptly completing and updating student records within the Ministry's HEPIC system with the highest level of accuracy. It also highlighted the need to organize summer leave schedules for the relevant staff to ensure the timely completion of this task in accordance with the deadlines established by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Second: Addressing Critical Student Cases
The Council reviewed the executive mechanisms for awarding remedial marks to final-year students with critical academic cases, in accordance with the latest ministerial regulations and instructions. These measures aim to ensure academic fairness while safeguarding students' educational progress.
Third: Summer Training and International Cooperation with Mansoura University
The Council examined the progress achieved in the summer training programs and reviewed the implementation of international training initiatives and student exchange programs with Mansoura University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. These initiatives are intended to strengthen students' practical competencies and expand international academic collaboration.
Fourth: Advancing the Bologna Process and Curriculum Development
The Council discussed the outcomes and recommendations of the recent workshop on the implementation of the Bologna Process, presented by the Director of the Quality Assurance Department. The discussion underscored the importance of incorporating the workshop's recommendations into curriculum development and enhancing educational systems in line with internationally recognized academic standards.
Fifth: Implementing Scientific Conference Recommendations
The Council stressed the importance of translating the recommendations of the University's national and international scientific conferences into practical action plans and applied projects that contribute to community service, strengthen scientific research, and support sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President commended the dedicated efforts of the Council members and the University's academic and administrative staff. He expressed his appreciation for their commitment to accomplishing key academic and administrative tasks and directed all concerned parties to expedite the implementation of the Council's resolutions while ensuring continuous follow-up, thereby reinforcing Al-Mustaqbal University's leadership and distinguished position at both the national and international levels.
