In a significant step toward strengthening Iraq’s higher education sector, Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Baghdad signed a joint scientific and cultural cooperation agreement during the Academic Bridge Initiative Forum. The agreement aims to expand institutional collaboration, enhance education, research, and innovation, and align with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The signing ceremony took place during the reception of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Hassan Shaker Majdi, who welcomed the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Alaa Abdul Hassan, in the presence of senior academic and administrative representatives from both universities. The agreement encompasses several strategic areas, most notably digital transformation and artificial intelligence, through the adoption of advanced digital solutions in academic administration and the promotion of joint research and innovation in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems to strengthen educational and research infrastructure. The partnership also emphasizes research collaboration by supporting joint applied research projects, encouraging the publication of research in internationally recognized Scopus-indexed journals, and advancing modern teaching technologies. In the field of training and capacity building, the agreement provides for the exchange of expertise and the implementation of training programs for faculty members, administrative staff, and students, enhancing their competencies in the use of modern digital technologies. On the academic level, the agreement focuses on coordinating academic programs, developing curricula, and promoting both virtual and in-person academic and knowledge exchange initiatives. This agreement reflects the shared vision of both universities to establish a strategic partnership that promotes academic excellence, strengthens scientific research and innovation, and contributes to the development of a modern higher education environment capable of meeting global challenges and supporting sustainable development in Iraq.
