The Council of Al-Mustaqbal University held an emergency session on the morning of Sunday, 5 July 2026, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and attended by the vice presidents and deans who are members of the Council. The meeting aimed to review recent ministerial directives and ensure the continuity and smooth operation of academic and administrative activities during the summer break. The session addressed several key issues, foremost among them the completion and updating of student data within the ministerial HEPIC system, with an emphasis on organizing summer leave schedules to ensure the timely completion of this vital task. The Council also approved the implementation mechanisms for awarding remedial marks to critical cases among final-year students, in accordance with the latest ministerial regulations and in the best interest of students and their academic future. The participants reviewed the progress of summer training programs and discussed plans for external training and student exchange initiatives with Mansoura University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, aiming to enhance students’ practical skills and expand avenues for international cooperation. In the area of curriculum development, the Council examined the recommendations of the recent Bologna Process workshop, presented by the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, with the goal of updating curricula and academic systems in line with international quality standards. The Council further stressed the importance of implementing the outcomes of the scientific conferences recently organized by the University and transforming their recommendations and research findings into practical projects that serve society and promote sustainable development. At the conclusion of the session, the University President expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Council members and directed that the adopted resolutions be implemented promptly and accurately, thereby reinforcing Al-Mustaqbal University’s leadership and distinguished standing in higher education. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
