The Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, has commenced the practical lectures for fourth-year students in the Clinical Enzymes course as part of the academic program for the 2026–2027 academic year. The practical sessions are designed to strengthen students’ laboratory and applied skills by connecting the theoretical concepts covered in lectures with practical applications in clinical biochemistry and medical laboratory analysis. Throughout these sessions, students receive practical training on the fundamental principles of clinical enzyme assays, laboratory sample handling, and the proper use of laboratory equipment and materials required for conducting biochemical tests in accordance with established scientific procedures. The practical component also focuses on developing students’ ability to interpret and analyze laboratory results and understand the relationship between changes in enzyme levels in biological samples and various pathological conditions. This helps students recognize the diagnostic significance of clinical enzymes and their role in supporting medical diagnosis and patient monitoring. In addition, the practical lectures contribute to improving students’ accuracy and confidence in laboratory work, while emphasizing proper laboratory practices, safety procedures, and systematic interpretation of experimental findings. Through these practical activities, the Department of Biochemistry continues to provide students with an integrated educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory training, preparing them for future professional and research responsibilities in medical and clinical laboratory fields.
