An official delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University visited the University of Petra in Jordan to discuss mechanisms for activating the cooperation agreement between the two universities in line with their shared academic and research priorities. The visit comes as part of the University’s efforts, under the leadership of its President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, to strengthen its scientific partnerships with Arab and international universities. The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation included Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Hassan Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad Kazim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department. They were received by Prof. Dr. Faisal Abu Al-Rub, Vice President of the University of Petra, and Dr. Nidal Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The meeting explored broader channels of cooperation, including student exchange and summer training programmes. The meeting reviewed the ongoing cooperation between the two universities, which has previously resulted in the organisation of a joint scientific conference and the publication of specialised research papers by both sides. The two parties also discussed ways to advance the agreement towards more sustainable programmes focusing on artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation. The visit also included a field tour of the University of Petra’s laboratories and academic facilities. This step reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to transforming its international agreements into productive partnerships and tangible academic programmes that contribute effectively to enhancing the quality of education, strengthening scientific research activities, and providing outstanding training opportunities for its students and academic staff.
