Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated its achievements in international rankings by organizing a scientific event to review and analyze scientific and academic performance indicators and discuss ways to develop international relations, strengthen competitiveness, and promote institutional sustainability. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, along with the Vice Presidents, Deans, Department and Division Directors, and a gathering of academic and administrative staff. The University President emphasized that these achievements are the result of strategic planning and collaborative institutional efforts. He praised the contributions of the university’s scientific, academic, and administrative staff, stressing the importance of advancing scientific research and high-quality scholarly publishing, expanding international partnerships, and utilizing performance indicators to achieve continuous improvement. The event featured specialized presentations delivered by Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Student Affairs and Educational Affairs; Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad Kazim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department; and Ali Abbas Zuwain, Director of the Global Rankings Unit. The presentations addressed performance indicators, achieved results, areas of strength, development opportunities, and mechanisms for strengthening the university’s presence in international rankings. The presentations highlighted several notable achievements, including Al-Mustaqbal University’s first-place ranking among private universities in Iraq in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for sustainability. The university also made its debut in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, placing in the 1,201–1,400 global band, alongside its advanced results in research-based and subject-specific rankings. The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of translating analytical findings into measurable and monitorable action plans, strengthening integration among university departments, and expanding international academic and research collaboration.
