Al Mustaqbal University Council Holds Its Twelfth Session and Reviews a Year of Distinguished Achievements The Council of Al Mustaqbal University held its twelfth session for the 2025–2026 academic year under the chairmanship of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in the presence of all council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic, scientific, and administrative issues, reviewed the most significant achievements accomplished during the past academic year, and discussed early preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year. The University President opened the session with an address in which he congratulated all university members, including faculty, staff, and students, commending the outstanding achievements realized during the previous academic year. These accomplishments reflected the University’s continuous development and distinguished presence at both national and international levels, particularly in scientific research, national and international rankings, as well as obtaining institutional accreditation and program accreditation for several colleges and departments. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi also praised the University’s recent success in securing the Erasmus+ grant, which has contributed to expanding opportunities for international academic cooperation and partnerships. He further highlighted the organization and hosting of numerous local and international scientific events and activities, in addition to launching qualitative initiatives in community service and strengthening the University’s contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The President expressed his appreciation for the sincere efforts exerted by faculty members, staff, and students, emphasizing that these achievements are the result of collective institutional work and integration among the University’s various units, reflecting the spirit of responsibility and excellence embraced by the Al Mustaqbal University community. The session was attended by Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch, who extended his congratulations to the University Presidency and Council on the occasion of obtaining the Erasmus+ grant and praised the remarkable scientific and academic accomplishments achieved by Al Mustaqbal University. The meeting also explored prospects for constructive cooperation between the Syndicate and the University, discussing mechanisms to strengthen this collaboration, including the nomination of syndicate representatives within the colleges and the University, as well as announcing employment opportunities for graduates through the Syndicate. As part of preparations for the new academic year 2026–2027, the University President directed the completion of all academic, technical, and administrative requirements at an early stage to ensure an effective and distinguished start to the new year and to provide a suitable environment for continuing the journey of excellence and achieving further accomplishments. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality and rigor of the University’s academic and scientific outcomes and aligning them with labor market needs and future requirements through continuous curriculum development, the adoption of modern teaching methods, the activation of industrial advisory councils, and benefiting from the experiences of leading international universities, in addition to utilizing international academic partnerships to advance educational and research processes. Regarding institutional performance, the session included several presentations addressing key aspects of the University’s development. Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Scientific Assistant to the University President, presented a paper focusing on student affairs, while Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, The session also included two additional presentations covering the activities of the Continuing Education Center and the performance of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department. At the conclusion of the session, the Council discussed the items listed on its agenda and examined several issues related to the University’s academic, scientific, and administrative journey. Appropriate decisions and recommendations were adopted to reinforce institutional development and support Al Mustaqbal University’s vision of consolidating excellence, leadership, and the continued achievement of distinguished accomplishments during the upcoming academic year.
