University of Al-Mustaqbal Holds Meeting to Activate Memoranda of Understanding and Strengthen Local and International Academic Partnerships

As part of its strategic vision to enhance academic and scientific cooperation, and under the direct guidance of the President of University of Al-Mustaqbal, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Scientific and Academic Supervision Office at the University Presidency convened a specialized meeting to discuss mechanisms for activating memoranda of understanding and agreements concluded with leading local and international universities, as well as with state institutions, federations, and organizations related to the higher education sector. The meeting aimed to maximize the benefits of these partnerships in areas of mutual interest. The meeting was chaired by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, and was attended by the Director of the Department of Cultural Relations, Dr. Samir Badrawi, along with the liaison officers representing the University’s colleges. During the meeting, Professor Dr. Al-Zuhairi emphasized the importance of moving beyond the stage of signing agreements to actual and effective implementation. He stressed the need for direct communication with counterparts in partner universities and institutions with which memoranda of understanding have already been signed, as well as the establishment of clear priorities and actionable plans supported by defined timelines. He also highlighted the necessity of documenting all official correspondence and related procedures, and of regularly monitoring progress in order to evaluate outcomes and enhance the efficiency of academic and scientific partnerships. This approach aligns with University of Al-Mustaqbal’s vision of academic openness, internationalization, and the exchange of expertise. This meeting forms part of a series of steps adopted by University of Al-Mustaqbal to maximize the impact of its institutional collaborations, advance its educational and research programs, and strengthen its active presence within the higher education system at both the local and international levels.

Al-Mustaqbal University Discusses with the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology at the Ministry of Planning Mechanisms to Activate Cooperation and Enhance Institutional Partnerships

In line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s orientation toward expanding national partnerships and strengthening institutional integration, and under the direct guidance and follow-up of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the University hosted the Director General of the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology at the Ministry of Planning, Dr. Hussein Ali Dawood Al-Ghartani. The visiting guest was received by the Administrative Assistant to the President, Professor Dr. Mundhir Fadhil Al-Dulaimi; the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy; the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Professor Dr. Haidar Al-Dulaimi; and the Consultant, Professor Dr. Mohsen Al-Furaiji, along with a number of department directors at the University Presidency. The visit included an expanded meeting during which areas of mutual interest were discussed, as well as mechanisms for activating the cooperation agreement concluded between the two sides, in a manner that contributes to supporting administrative development programs, digital transformation, and capacity building, in line with institutional development priorities and the requirements of quality and governance. Following the meeting, the visiting guest conducted a field tour of several university facilities, during which he reviewed the advanced infrastructure provided by the University for its students and staff. He also attended part of the activities of the Future Festival for Persons with Disabilities, organized by the Student Activities Department under the patronage of the University President. At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Al-Ghartani expressed his great admiration for the remarkable development he observed in the university environment and institutional organization, affirming the readiness of the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology to engage in effective partnerships and to support Al-Mustaqbal University’s initiatives and its ongoing pursuit of achieving the highest levels of performance and excellence at both the national and international levels.

University of Al-Mustaqbal Strengthens National Partnership with the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology to Expand Qualitative Cooperation

In line with its strategic vision to build effective partnerships with leading national institutions, University of Al-Mustaqbal participated in a high-level meeting with the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology at the Ministry of Planning. The meeting focused on exploring prospects for bilateral cooperation and enhancing institutional integration in the fields of training, development, and human capacity building. The discussions addressed the potential launch of advanced joint training programs, as well as the design of specialized initiatives in training, consultancy, and research. These efforts aim to enhance institutional performance, improve human resource efficiency, and keep pace with rapid developments in administrative practices and information technology. The delegation from University of Al-Mustaqbal included Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of the Cultural Relations Department; Dr. Riyadh Hamid Salman, Director of the Continuing Education Center; and Mr. Abdul Ali Dakhel, Assistant Director of the Center. The delegation presented a comprehensive overview of the University’s academic and training capabilities, highlighting its experience in implementing high-quality development programs in accordance with recognized standards. They reaffirmed the University’s readiness to mobilize its scientific and human expertise in support of national administrative and technological development programs. For its part, the National Center welcomed the visit and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with reputable Iraqi universities, particularly those with advanced institutional structures and successful experience in training and capacity building. Such collaboration, the Center noted, contributes to achieving sustainable development goals, supporting administrative reform pathways, and enhancing the efficiency of state institutions. This meeting forms part of University of Al-Mustaqbal’s broader strategic approach to institutional openness and partnership with government entities, reinforcing its academic standing and its pivotal role in supporting national development plans through impactful training and consultancy programs that serve the community and promote a more efficient and sustainable future.

Al-Mustaqbal University Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with “Together for the Protection of Humans and the Environment Association ” to Support Sustainability

As part of strengthening partnerships between the academic sector and civil society organizations, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, received a delegation from the Together for the Protection of Humans and the Environment Association, during which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to consolidate joint cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, human empowerment, and community service. The MoU was signed on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, while it was signed on behalf of the Association by Dr. Saadia Faleh Hassoun, President of the Together for the Protection of Humans and the Environment Association. The signing ceremony was attended by Engineer Khalid Kazem Al-Salihi, Director of the Sustainability Division at the University Presidency. The MoU focuses on enhancing environmental awareness, integrating sustainability concepts into educational and community programs, engaging university students in training courses and exchange programs inside and outside Iraq, as well as cooperation in scientific research and the implementation of initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals. Both sides emphasized the importance of this partnership in unifying academic and community efforts, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development and serving the local community.

Al-Mustaqbal University Signs a Strategic Partnership to Enhance Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment

In a new step that reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s leadership at both the national and international levels, the university has signed a joint scientific and technical cooperation memorandum with the Energy Conservation and Improvement in the Built Environment (ECIBE) organization, a specialized non-governmental entity registered with the NGO Department of the Council of Ministers Presidency in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This partnership aligns with the university’s vision—championed by its President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi—to build strategic relationships that effectively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the energy sector, which is a vital pillar for the continuity of economic and social systems. The significance of this step is further reinforced by Al-Mustaqbal University’s outstanding global achievement of ranking first worldwide in SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) according to the 2025 Times Higher Education Sustainability Rankings. The memorandum aims to strengthen research cooperation, exchange technical expertise, and develop innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption and enhance efficiency within the built environment—whether in existing buildings or in future urban planning and design processes. The partnership is also expected to unite the efforts of multiple academic disciplines, including civil, architectural, and electrical engineering, in addition to design, urban planning, and other fields that support sustainable development and community well-being. The agreement was signed on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and on behalf of ECIBE by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jru Ali Hama Raza, Director of the organization. The signing ceremony, held in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, was attended by Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad Al-Moussawi, Director of Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations at the university.

Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens Its International Presence Through Participation in the Final 2025 Board Meeting of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS)

As part of its vision to expand academic partnerships and enhance its presence on influential international platforms, Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the thirteenth and final virtual meeting for 2025 of the Board of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS). The meeting witnessed broad participation from presidents of newly admitted member universities, alongside the main board members, including the University President, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, representing Al-Mustaqbal University on the Board. The university was represented in the meeting by Professor Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, accompanied by several staff members from the university presidency. This participation reflects the university’s ongoing engagement with the union’s activities and strategic initiatives. The meeting reviewed the achievements of 2025, including conferences, meetings, workshops, and scientific forums—both in-person and virtual. Among these was the EURIE Eurasia Higher Education Summit, held in Istanbul last April, in which the university actively participated. Attendees also discussed reports from the subcommittees and specialized platforms, most notably the NextGen Students platform, in which the university is proudly represented at the international level. At the conclusion of the session, EURAS President Professor Mustafa Aydın praised Al-Mustaqbal University for its active contributions to the union’s activities, commending its initiative and readiness to host the Eurasia Academy Forum, scheduled for late January 2026 in Iraq—an important event previously hosted by member countries such as Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Iran. In his closing remarks on behalf of the participating universities, Professor Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy expressed the university’s pride in organizing this significant international event and extended an open invitation to all participants to visit Al-Mustaqbal University and take part in the upcoming forum’s activities.
