Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Congratulates Al-Mustaqbal University on Its Global Achievement in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027

In a remarkable academic achievement that adds to Al-Mustaqbal University’s record of scientific success, the University has made its global debut in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR 2027), securing a position in the 1201–1400 band worldwide. The ranking includes 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories. On this occasion, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University extends its sincere congratulations on this significant academic achievement, which reflects the University’s continuous progress in higher education and scientific research, as well as its institutional efforts to strengthen its presence and standing within the international academic community. This achievement places Al-Mustaqbal University second among Iraqi universities, following the University of Technology, and first among private universities in Iraq, within the 1201–1400 band globally. This milestone represents an important step forward in the University’s pursuit of academic and research excellence and its engagement with international scientific institutions. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that this achievement is the result of the sustained efforts and fruitful collaboration of the University’s academic, research, and administrative staff. Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Welcomes a Student Delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening scientific and practical engagement between students and specialized academic and research centers, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed a delegation of university students. The students were received by members of the Center’s academic and administrative staff. The visit aimed to introduce the students to the Center’s role in the fields of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, scientific research, and digital applications, as well as to provide an overview of its key activities, initiatives, and projects that contribute to supporting the academic and technological environment at the University. During the visit, the Center’s staff provided the students with an introduction to the Center’s mission, areas of specialization, and scientific activities. They also presented a number of technological applications and projects demonstrating the use of artificial intelligence to address real-world challenges and develop smart solutions, while emphasizing the importance of connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experience in modern technological fields. Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Explores New Research Partnerships During the Arab Network of Research Centers Conference

As part of its strategic vision to expand its academic and research relations at the Arab and regional levels, Al-Mustaqbal University participated actively in the first day of the First Conference of the Arab Network of Research Centers, held at the National Research Centre in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. The University was represented by Prof. Dr. Mehdi Abadi Manaa, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, amid broad Arab participation that included representatives from approximately ten Arab countries and more than 76 research centers from across the Arab world. The conference represents an advanced Arab platform bringing together research center leaders, experts, and representatives of international institutions concerned with scientific research, rankings, and innovation. Delegations from Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and other Arab countries participated in the conference, reflecting the growing interest in building a more integrated Arab research ecosystem capable of competing at the regional and international levels. Artificial intelligence also occupied a central position in the conference through the lecture “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Scientific Research and Innovation,” delivered by Dr. Ayman Aqeel, Director of Consulting for the Academic and Government Sector at Clarivate. The lecture discussed the rapid transformations driven by artificial intelligence technologies in scientific research methodologies, knowledge management, data analysis, and the acceleration of the scientific innovation cycle. On the sidelines of the first day’s activities, the Al-Mustaqbal University delegation worked to strengthen channels of cooperation and communication with a number of Arab research leaders and representatives of leading international organizations, particularly Elsevier and Clarivate, in addition to participating research centers within the Arab Network. Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and as part of the University’s commitment to strengthening practical education and keeping pace with rapid developments in modern technologies, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a specialized scientific workshop on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, for students of the third group of the third-year Department of Cybersecurity Sciences. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Faryal Ibrahim Jabbar. The workshop was entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity: Intelligent Technologies for Addressing Digital Threats” and aimed to enhance students’ scientific knowledge of the growing role of artificial intelligence in developing cybersecurity systems and to introduce them to key intelligent technologies used in data analysis, anomaly detection, and digital threat prediction. The workshop addressed a range of scientific topics focusing on the use of artificial intelligence algorithms in detecting cyberattacks, analyzing digital behavior, identifying suspicious activities, and supporting security threat response.
