Department of Cultural Relations

The Cultural Relationships Department is affiliated to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Department is responsible for establishing and developing scientific and academic cultural exchange programs and organizing the memorandums of understanding with universities and institutions of mutual interest. Among the department's main tasks is raising the scientific, educational, and professional competence of faculty staff, and other technical and administrative staff in the university. This is achieved through facilitating the participation of all staff in their participation in local, regional and international scientific and cultural activities. Most of such participation are implemented under the umbrella of the signed memorandums of understanding with universities, organizations, unions, and bodies related .to education, culture, and science

Al-Mustaqbal University President Participates in UNIMED General Assembly 2026 in –Barcelona-

Barcelona, Spain | 7–8 October 2026 Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in the 2026 General Assembly of the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), hosted by the University of Barcelona, Spain, coinciding with the Union’s 35th anniversary. The Assembly brought together university leaders and representatives of higher education institutions from across Europe and the Mediterranean to discuss strategic priorities for advancing higher education and research, focusing on governance, digital education, intercultural dialogue, graduate employability, education in emergencies, and sustainable development. Discussions also explored the future of Erasmus+ (2028–2034), student and staff mobility, international partnerships, capacity building, master’s scholarships, and Jean Monnet Actions. Notably, Al-Mustaqbal University is the only private university in Iraq to have secured a Jean Monnet grant under the European Union’s programmes, reflecting its growing international engagement and commitment to academic excellence. Towards Future Leaders… Al-Mustaqbal University Launches MBA Program in Partnership with Mansoura University.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the College of Administrative Sciences launched the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, hosted by the Faculty of Commerce at Mansoura University, Egypt, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The program marks a significant step in advancing the University’s postgraduate offerings and expanding its academic partnerships. The launch ceremony was attended by the Vice president Prof. Dr. Munther Fadhil , Mr. Abdulridha Shakir, Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, along with several college deans, faculty members, and postgraduate students. Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy delivered the University President’s speech, conveying his greetings and congratulations to the students. He emphasized that the program represents a valuable addition to the University’s postgraduate education portfolio, aiming to prepare graduates with advanced knowledge and leadership and professional skills capable of meeting the demands of the modern business environment and managing organizations with efficiency and innovation. He also highlighted the importance of academic cooperation with Mansoura University in exchanging expertise and enhancing the quality of education and research. He expressed Al-Mustaqbal University’s aspiration for the program to become a successful model of Arab academic partnership and contribute to developing leaders capable of driving innovation, managing change, and creating sustainable solutions. Al-Mustaqbal University and The University of Jordan.. Strategic Cooperation for Academic Excellence, International Accreditation and Global Presence.

During its visit to The University of Jordan, a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University explored opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange in enhancing institutional performance, advancing the quality of education and research, strengthening universities’ positions in global rankings, and pursuing international accreditation. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Hassan Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Dr. Tareq Jawad Kazem, Director of Scientific Affairs. Discussions focused on developing academic programs in line with international standards, strengthening quality and accreditation systems, and benefiting from successful institutional experiences. The two sides also discussed emerging trends in higher education, digital transformation, and the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching, research, and university management, highlighting the importance of developing skills, curricula, and technological infrastructure to meet future requirements. The Jordanian side commended Al-Mustaqbal University’s strong performance in several global rankings, particularly the Times Higher Education and UI GreenMetric rankings, reflecting its continued progress in academic and scientific performance and institutional sustainability. The two sides agreed to strengthen knowledge exchange and organize joint workshops and development programs in international accreditation and institutional and academic capacity building, supporting efforts to meet quality and accreditation requirements. Al-Mustaqbal University and the -University of Petra - Renewing Academic Partnership and Expanding Cooperation.

In line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, to strengthening academic and scientific partnerships with Arab and international universities, a university delegation visited the University of Petra in Jordan to explore ways to activate the existing cooperation agreement and align it with shared academic and research priorities. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Hassan Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Prof. Dr. Tareq Jawad Kazem, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department. They were received by Prof. Dr. Faisal Abu Al-Rub, Vice President of the University of Petra; Dr. Nidal Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Mr. Alaa Al-Din Arabiyat, Director of Public and International Relations, along with a number of senior academic and administrative representatives. The meeting reviewed the universities’ previous cooperation and its academic and research outcomes, including joint scientific events, collaborative research publications, and the exchange of expertise and cooperation between corresponding colleges and disciplines. The two sides also discussed renewing the agreement and developing it into more effective and sustainable programs, with expanded cooperation in education and research, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, as well as student exchange and summer training programs to strengthen practical skills and enhance students’ readiness for the labor market. The visit also included a field tour of several University of Petra facilities, where the delegation explored the educational environment, laboratories, and academic and research capabilities, while discussing opportunities to further expand cooperation and exchange expertise.
