A Delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University Visits the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute at Sadat City University – Egypt

In line with its commitment to strengthening scientific and academic cooperation with prestigious institutions, a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University – Iraq paid an official visit to the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute at Sadat City University, Arab Republic of Egypt, on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abbas Nweir, Dean of the Institute, and discussions were held on potential avenues of collaboration in scientific research, training, development, and academic exchange, especially in the fields of biotechnology and genetic engineering. The visiting delegation included: Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adnan Al-Khafaji – Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, College of Health and Medical Technologies, Prof. Dr. Aysam Mahmoud Ali Fayed – Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, Asst. Lecturer Haider Mohammed Nasser – Secretary of the College Council. IR Receiver Sensor Now Available at Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications

As part of its ongoing efforts to support practical research and innovation, Al-Mustaqbal University has equipped the Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications with the widely used Infrared Receiver (IR Receiver) sensor, essential in smart control systems, robotics, and interactive technologies. This sensor enables students and researchers to implement projects that receive signals from remote controllers and convert them into programmable digital commands, using microcontrollers such as Arduino. The sensor serves as a gateway to creative applications in smart homes, educational tools, assistive technology, and automated systems. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)—by equipping students and labs with accessible and impactful technologies. Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, has published a scientific paper titled: Trajectory Approximation of Video Based on Phase Correlation for Forward-Facing Camera The paper appeared in the World Conference on Information Systems for Business Management and was published online on May 1st, 2025, as part of the book series Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies (Volume 431) by Springer. This research represents a significant contribution in the field of computer vision and AI-based video processing systems. Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private universities in Iraq.
