Al-Mustaqbal University Shines in Oyster Mushroom Production and Embraces Smart Agriculture Innovation

As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, Al-Mustaqbal University has successfully produced Oyster Mushrooms, one of the most valuable and widely consumed edible fungi worldwide, second only to white and brown mushrooms. Oyster Mushrooms are renowned for their high nutritional value, serving as a rich source of vitamins and minerals. They also contain the rare antioxidant "Ergothioneine," which plays a crucial role in boosting the immune system and combating oxidative stress, offering significant health benefits. This achievement is part of the university’s broader initiatives to promote sustainable organic farming, which have also yielded high-quality crops such as yellow watermelon, climbing melon, and other plant varieties that support biodiversity and enhance food security in Iraq, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2, 12, 15). In parallel, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University is actively studying smart agriculture technologies. The center focuses on integrating AI solutions to optimize agricultural productivity, efficiently manage natural resources, and monitor crop health, contributing to sustainable agricultural development. Through these scientific and environmental endeavors, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its leadership as an academic institution that blends innovation with social responsibility, setting a benchmark for productive and sustainable universities. Al-Mustaqbal University Celebrates World Intellectual Property Day and Launches Its Intellectual Property Policy Document

Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, Al-Mustaqbal University held a celebration for World Intellectual Property Day. The event was attended by representatives from government ministries, private sector institutions, over forty inventors and innovators, and a wide range of faculty members and researchers. The event began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Muzhfer Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, representing the university administration. During his speech, he announced the launch of "The Intellectual Property Policy Document of Al-Mustaqbal University," a pioneering step to foster an innovative environment and protect the rights of students, researchers, and faculty members. The event featured a documentary film showcasing the university's achievements, followed by a detailed presentation of the policy document by Dr. Samir Ibrahim Badrawi. The event also included presentations from Dr. Mahdi Dhamad Al-Qaisi from the Ministry of Agriculture and Mr. Ahmed Magdi Khalil from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, along with a paper presented by Eng. Teresa Jassim Rida, President of the Iraqi Inventors and Innovators Association. The celebration concluded with the reading of recommendations, the distribution of certificates of appreciation to participants and supporters, and the opening of a special intellectual property exhibition and bazaar, displaying patent models and innovative projects. Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging students and researchers to produce knowledge and apply it for the benefit of society and the national economy. As part of the Third International Future Week for Sustainability: Visit of "Al-Tariqa Al-Dhakiya Kindergarten and Nursery" Children to the Artificial Intelligence Center, Its Incubator, and the Energy Research Center

As part of the Third International Future Week for Sustainability, children from "Al-Tariqa Al-Dhakiya Kindergarten and Nursery" visited the Future Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications and its incubator, as well as the Energy Research Center, where they had the opportunity to explore the latest technological applications in artificial intelligence and sustainable energy. The children and their teachers were warmly welcomed upon their arrival, where a simplified explanation was provided about the significant role artificial intelligence plays in human life, as well as the importance of sustainable energy for the future. The visit also included a tour of the Future Center's technology incubator, where the children learned about the smart innovations and projects being developed. This visit comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University's efforts to raise early awareness among the younger generations about the importance of sustainability and technology in building a better future. Al-Mustaqbal University Launches "Al-Mustaqbal Club for Books and Children's Literature for a Sustainable Life"

As part of its commitment to promoting sustainability culture, Al-Mustaqbal University has announced the launch of the "Al-Mustaqbal Club for Books and Children's Literature for a Sustainable Life", an initiative designed to instill environmental and social awareness in future generations through literature and arts. This initiative is part of the ongoing "Third International Week of Al-Mustaqbal for Sustainability" hosted at the university, reinforcing its dedication to embedding sustainability concepts at an early age, thereby contributing to the development of an environmentally and socially conscious community. The Al-Mustaqbal Club for Books and Children's Literature aims to provide an interactive and creative environment for children and young people, encouraging them to read, explore, and learn about sustainability issues through stories, books, and various literary and artistic activities. The club seeks to develop critical and creative thinking skills in children, motivating them to take effective steps toward building a sustainable future. The club's activities include: Storytelling Sessions: Covering sustainability and environmental protection topics in an engaging way appropriate for children. Al-Mustaqbal University Concludes Its 3rd International Sustainability Week Festival with Remarkable Achievements and Global Partnerships

Al-Mustaqbal University successfully concluded its 3rd International Sustainability Week Festival, a week-long event rich with scientific, cultural, and societal activities. The closing day featured a special tour by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, who visited the Innovation and Sustainability Exhibitions. He praised the outstanding contributions of the participants and commended their efforts in translating sustainability into tangible innovations. The exhibits showcased a variety of scientific and technical projects, presented by students and researchers, with detailed explanations provided on their mechanisms and real-world applications. In his concluding remarks, the President extended heartfelt thanks to all academics, researchers, and students, applauding the high quality of outcomes that reflect the university's academic and research excellence. Festival Highlights: Showcasing over 300 innovative projects in renewable energy, agriculture, artificial intelligence, robotics, and heritage. Hosting three international conferences focusing on Education (SDG 4), Medical Technologies (SDG 3), and Poverty Reduction (SDG 1 & 2). Innovative Projects and Interactive Booths Featured in the Second AI Exhibition at Al-Mustaqbal AI Applications Festival

The Second Artificial Intelligence Exhibition, held as part of the Al-Mustaqbal Festival for AI Applications, showcased a wide array of innovative projects that reflect the diversity and progress in AI implementations, presented by students and researchers from various colleges at Al-Mustaqbal University. Projects were distributed across several exhibition booths, including: A smart medical robotic arm capable of monitoring patients’ oxygen levels and automatically applying an oxygen mask when needed. An intelligent gas leak detection system with real-time alert capabilities to ensure public safety. The Smart Container app, designed to promote mindful food consumption and reduce waste using AI algorithms. A smart trash bin, equipped with motion sensors to interact with users in intelligent environments. The festival booths were a hub of interactive and educational experiences, offering live demonstrations and real-world AI applications that attracted strong engagement from university students and school visitors alike.
